A dream comes true: Nick Layton, lead guitarist and songwriter of the US-American Melodic Metal units FireWölfe and Reign of Glory, has realized a unique project under the name MOONLIT MASQUERADE supported by a bunch of legendary musicians.
First appetizer ‚Wreckage‘ features vocalist Zak Stevens & drummer Jeff Plate (both Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Barry Sparks on bass(Dokken, Michael Schenker) and Ted Gardner on keyboards.
Nick: “I wrote ‚Wreckage‘ specifically for vocalist Zak Stevens, with the goal of capturing some of that Gutter Ballet, Edge of Thorns and Wake of Magellan magic. I think we did it! Please like, share and leave a comment on the video if you dig it!“
Apart from the title track ‚Wreckage‘, the limited cardboard-sleeve CD contains two exclusive songs for enthusiasts and collectors, which are neither available digitally nor featured on the longplay album planned for September 2026.

German Metal band ROXXCALIBUR unleash a new single & video for the song “Wheels” today! This song, a cover from the band TREDEGAR originally recorded in 1982, is taken from the group’s upcoming album “NWOBHM From The Vaults” which will be released on May 9th, 2025!
Guitarist Holger comments: “‘Wheels’ is the second fast song on the album. It’s a really strong, fast-paced number. However, this guitar run, which occurs at the beginning and in the middle, is a bit tricky to play. Or rather, Kalli had to invest a bit of time to figure it out. There is no sheet music or tablature for such songs, so he had to make a lot of guesses here. At least that’s how I interpret his reaction when I asked him about it during the recordings…haha. None of us would have thought up the riff in the verse like that either. But it’s definitely a great number with a strong hookline!”
Drummer Neudi adds: “TREDEGAR have always been known outside of NWOBHM circles, as Budgie’s guitarist Tony Bourge played a leading role in the band. But Russ North, who sadly passed away recently and is better known for Cloven Hoof, also has a name in the scene. Guitarist Andy Wood was also later in Cloven Hoof and is now the lead singer in Rhabstallion. ‘Wheels’ is a rather harder and faster song for TREDEGAR and gave us the chance to put another lively track on our fourth album.”
