ROXXCALIBUR new single & video out!
ROXXCALIBUR unleash single & video for the track “Wheels” today”! 🤘
German Metal band ROXXCALIBUR unleash a new single & video for the song “Wheels” today! This song, a cover from the band TREDEGAR originally recorded in 1982, is taken from the group’s upcoming album “NWOBHM From The Vaults” which will be released on May 9th, 2025!
Guitarist Holger comments: “‘Wheels’ is the second fast song on the album. It’s a really strong, fast-paced number. However, this guitar run, which occurs at the beginning and in the middle, is a bit tricky to play. Or rather, Kalli had to invest a bit of time to figure it out. There is no sheet music or tablature for such songs, so he had to make a lot of guesses here. At least that’s how I interpret his reaction when I asked him about it during the recordings…haha. None of us would have thought up the riff in the verse like that either. But it’s definitely a great number with a strong hookline!”
Drummer Neudi adds: “TREDEGAR have always been known outside of NWOBHM circles, as Budgie’s guitarist Tony Bourge played a leading role in the band. But Russ North, who sadly passed away recently and is better known for Cloven Hoof, also has a name in the scene. Guitarist Andy Wood was also later in Cloven Hoof and is now the lead singer in Rhabstallion. ‘Wheels’ is a rather harder and faster song for TREDEGAR and gave us the chance to put another lively track on our fourth album.”

ROXXCALIBUR „Fight For Your Freedom“ single out now!
Today ROXXCALIBUR return with the song „Fight For Your Freedom“ from their upcoming album „NWOBHM From The Vaults“! This fivepiece represents a hell way more than just being a keen tribute band playing historic tunes and keeping up the spirit of an era alive and kickin’. These guys again and again dig out lost NWOBHM pearls, awarding them a fully deserved second chance.
Holger from ROXXCALIBUR comments: „‘Fight For Your Freedom’ by ENERGY was one of Limb’s suggestions for the album. Another band with probably just a few unknown singles and which is not even listed in the Metal Archives. I couldn’t get the song out of my head after hearing it for the first time, so it was my joker for the album in case it failed the voting with the other songs. Everyone was allowed to nominate a song that they absolutely wanted to have on the album and that’s how it turned out.
I think the way the song builds up to such a speedy masterpiece after this quiet, somewhat melancholy beginning is very cool for 1983. This melody in particular is so great that I gave it a boost with double bass at the end when I heard the song… I especially like the fast songs anyway.“
„NWOBHM From The Vaults“ will be unleashed via Limb Music on May 9th, 2025.

This fivepiece represents a hell way more than just being a keen tribute band playing historic tunes and keeping up the spirit of an era alive and kickin’.
ROXXCALIBUR has a clear-cut definition being “a band with external songwriters”. These guys again and again dig out lost NWOBHM pearls, awarding them a fully deserved second chance. A metal on metal win-win package …
“NWOBHM From The Vaults” sounds as natural as a recording session being cut in the womb of a living room. Conducted by guitarist Kalli Coldsmith as producer, the songs do sound authentically organic, thankfully lacking modern elements or any artificial “retro” atmosphere.
Icing on the cake is one more stunning cover artwork by Rodney Matthews. The renowned artist not only illustrated many records of rock icons during the seventies but also coined the sleeves of NWOBHM household names with Diamond Head, Praying Mantis and Tygers Of Pan Tang among them.
“NWOBHM From The Vaults” contains a booklet with liner notes by Neudi.
Line-Up (from left to right):Mario Lang – bass

ROXXCALIBUR – ALBUM NO. 4 IN THE MAKING!
…THE RETURN OF „PERMANENT GARAGE DAYS“ (and not just „revisited“)
Quote from the band:
„Yes, it seemed impossible some months back. Our last album „Gems Of The NWOBHM“ was released in 2015. …
When we started, we had underground songs on our first album, like „Seven Days Of Splendour“ from Jameson Raid or „Rainbow Warrior“ from Bleak House. Many of these bands have been reissued on great labels like High Roller, No Remorse or Cult Metal Classics and some of those bands are active again. The once „unknown“ NWOBHM songs from rare 7″ singles and albums are now bigger than ever (not just because of us!!). … We always wanted to surprise people with great songs that only a few people know (or remember). This still is our aim, so we have to dig way deeper than usual to make Roxxcalibur album number 4 as relevant as the three albums before. We are on a good way here, still chosing tracks right now! Here and there we might do some more changes to the songs than usual when the original is more AOR or punk…let’s see!
Beside that nothing has changed! Same line-up as on „Gems…“ and the same label (Limb Music). No modern studio production but an authentic in-your-face sound. Same attitude, same fun!
There’s a lot of NWOBHM-people who we met and who are not with us anymore. This album will be dedicated to all of them, including Mr. Tsangarides who did our second album.“

ROXXCALIBUR – Gems Of The NWOBHM
The „gold diggers“ are back. Their third album, „Gems Of The NWOBHM“ is definitely no obscurity for people in the know. Even though the majority of worldwide metal fans may not be familiar with all of the selected songs in their original form, it remains an incredibly good metal CD, which, although it has the spirit of the early Eighties within it, is still made for the here and now. Liner notes by author and NWOBHM expert John Tucker („Neat & Tidy – The Story of Neat Records“, „Suzie Smiled“ etc.). Cover artwork by Rodney Matthews (Diamond Head, Praying Mantis, Tygers Of Pan Tang, Bitches Sin, Magnum, Nazareth etc.). Mastered by Eroc, known not only for his role as drummer of the Krautrock legends Grobschnitt but also as studio man for his remastering of classics of the Sixties and Seventies.
The album includes the CD only track „Rip Off“ and comes in a slipcase including a sticker and a poster.
